Mengenang Agostino Di Bartolomei

Hari ini 20 tahun silam, sebutir peluru mengakhiri riwayat hidup seorang mantan pemain bintang, seorang legenda sepakbola Italia khususnya AS Roma dialah Agostino DiBartolomei.
Kita tidak akan membahas bagaimana dan kenapa beliau mati, tapi kita akan mengenang bagaimana beliau hidup.

Terlahir di Roma pada 8 April 1955, Ago kecil mulai bermain sepak bola disebuah klub Garbatella sebelum bakatnya tercium oleh scout AS Roma di rekrut oleh Primavera AS Roma diusia 14 tahun.

Ago memulai debut di tim utama pada musim 1972-1973 di usia 17 tahun. Sempat dipinjamkan ke Lanerossi Vicenza berbarengan dengan Bruno Conti ke Genoa selama semusim Ago kembali ke Roma, dibawah asuhan Nils Liedholm, Ago menjadi berkembang menjadi pemain yang memiliki jiwa kepemimpinan tinggi tak urung ban kapten pun disematkan kepadanya dan ia menjadi kesayangan tifosi AS Roma.

Sebagai pemain tengah Ago bertandem dengan Falcao menjadikan Roma klub yg disegani karena duet playmaker cerdas Ago dan Falcao, terlebih ago memiliki keunggulan passing2 super terukur dan cannonball yang menggentarkan nyali kiper2 di ajang Serie A pada jamannya.
Prestasi Ago di AS Roma adalah 1 scudetto (1983) 3 Coppa Italia serta runner up European Cup setelah kalah adu pinalti pada final European Cup melawan liverpool (1984)

Dan musim 1983-1984 itu pula yg jadi musim terakhir Ago di AS Roma, Ago melanjutkan kariernya di AC Milan hingga 1987 lalu ke Cesena 1988 dan mengakhiri kariernya di Salernitana 1990.
Dipenghujung hidupnya Ago menderita sakit Depresi Akut, hingga ia mengakhiri hidupnya pada usia 39 Tahun.

Agostino Di Bartolomei, seorang pemimpin sejati, Jenderal lapangan tengah, Jago Assist dan tendangan jarak jauh, Ikon Roma pada masanya dan tetap dipuja hingga masa kini.
Namanya abadi sebagai satu dari sebelas pemain yang mengisi Hall of Fame AS Roma. Istirahatlah dengan tenang Capitano ... Pencapaianmu adalah kebanggan kami ... Kharisma mu abadi dihati kami ...
